We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Riccardo Marin, from the Nanomaterials for Bioimaging Group (nanoBIG), has been granted with a € 1.5 million Starting Grant 2024 funded by the European Research Council.
His project “Untapping multiparametric 2D luminescence sensing through MACHine LEarning and Spectral Sorting (MAtCHLESS)” aims to develop a technology based on miniaturized sensors that act as “nanospies”. These nanospies will be able to enter cells, accumulate in specific regions and send light signals with information about temperature, pH and oxygenation. By developing this technology, MAtCHLESS will contribute to increasing our understanding of biological processes in cells, laying the foundations, for example, for the development of more effective cancer treatments and the improvement of industrial processes based on bacteria.
On behalf of the IAdChem, we want to express our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Marin. We wish you much success in this exciting project, Riccardo!
