In our scientific work, we collect heaps of data. With great care and skill, we refine this wealth of raw information, distilling insights and advancing the frontiers of knowledge. But when it comes to showing others what we have done, we are much less at ease.
This lecture is here to help: I will highlight best practices for visualizations and show how creativity in figure-making goes hand in hand with storytelling, a deepened understanding of the scientific work, and an increase in lateral thinking inside the research avenue. Scientific visualization is a powerful, if sometimes harsh, tool to give new angles to our laboratory work.
