Research objective: The European Union (EU) is striving to develop sustainable chemical processes to meet future needs for synthetic compounds and materials. Catalysis, including organocatalysis and metal catalysis, plays a crucial role in optimising natural resource use and minimising environmental impact. Despite significant advancements, improving catalyst efficiency and developing new methods remain challenging. Photocatalysis, which uses visible light, shows great promise but is not yet widely implemented in industry. This has led to a push for stronger collaboration between academia and industry. Funded by the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions programme, the PIA project will offer students in this field unique opportunities to work with EU-funded researchers and major pharmaceutical companies to create innovative industrial solutions.

Funding project: Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions – Doctoral Network “Photocatalytic Industrial Applications” (PIA). Grant agreement nr. 101168878.
